Just add a single pinch of table-salt (any kind of salt will do) to one glass of water. Rinse two times a day using this homemade saline solution. Gargle the saline solution once in the morning and once in the night.
After brushing your teeth massage your gums with a mixture of certain oil types. Combine one ounce of canola, sunflower and sesame oil with 10 tea tree oil drops, 6 myrrh oil drops, 3 lemon oil drops and 1 peppermint oil drop. Blend them all together and use their mixture as a massage like cream/liniment to your gums. Take care to avoid swallowing the mixture. You can also combine the oil mixture with a single drop of more oil types (peppermint, myrrh, clove, thyme) and add all of them into one cup of boiled water for a good mouthwash.
Diluted lemon juice will help you soothe any bleeding or receding gums in the mouth. You can also try eating raw pears, melons and apples to soothe any bleeding and receding gums.
An alternate application of hot and cold compress to the face can help reduce the inflammation that was caused by gingivitis. You should do this many times a day to achieve optimal results.

Prevention is always the best treatment for gingivitis. Always remember to brush your teeth properly all the time. Take your time in brushing them and donít be too fast to finish. Target certain areas in the mouth that may be prone to plaque formation like the sides and the far corners of the mouth. Flossing and rinsing can also help a lot in the prevention of gingivitis, floss the sides of your teeth and the lines between your teeth and gums for accuracy in removing those bad plaques. You also need to visit your dentist at regular intervals to promote a good dental health.
